Fight For 15

The BC Federation of Labour has launched the Fight for $15 campaign to lobby the government for a long-overdue increase to the minimum wage. While promises have been made to raise the current minimum from $10.25/hour to $10.45/hour (and the server minimum from $9 to $9.20) this is not nearly enough — it still leaves full time minimum wage earners thousands of dollars below the poverty line.

Every month, on or around the 15th there are leafleting and petition drives — for March, there will be an event on Campus (coordinated through CUPE 4163). If you are interested in helping out this month or in other months, please contact the Political Action Committee.
