Welcome To CUPE 951!

If you haven't already looked around, here are some important resources:
  • Your Collective Agreement [pdf file] -- sometimes called your contract, it is a written agreement between the union and employer that tells workers and the employer what their rights and responsibilities are.
  • Your Representatives -- the people who do the work of the Union. There's always room for more; if you are interested, contact any member of the Executive or any Union Officer. Consider helping out with a committee to learn more about the way the Union works.
  • Your Benefits -- in addition to wages, the Union negotiates added benefits including health, dental, and pension plans.
  • General Meeting Schedule -- General Meetings are open to all CUPE 951 members and are a great way to find out what's going on around campus; all members are encouraged to attend. You are entitled to one half hour in addition to your lunch hour to attend the meetings which are normally held on the last Wednesday of the month from 11:30 to 1:00.
  • General Meeting Minutes -- to see what is typically discussed at General Meetings, check out our archive of minutes.

If you have any questions, please ask a steward or any other union officer.

New UVic Employees will also find useful information in the UVic Employee Handbook and should check out the CUPE 951 Orientation Guide [.doc file].
