Benefits

CUPE 951 benefits include Health, Extended Health and Dental coverage, Pension, Basic Life Insurance and Long Term Disability (LTD) Insurance. There is also an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP). Benefits and their cost to members are negotiated along with the Collective Agreement during collective bargaining.

Extended Health and Dental coverage are provided through Pacific Blue Cross. For information on what is covered or to submit or download claim forms, please login at the Pacific Blue Cross member area, CARESnet.

EFAP is a confidential program that includes professional counselling, information and referral services. For further details, please contact the Benefits Office in Human Resources, or link directly to Morneau Shepell, service provider for UVic’s EFAP program.

Members have fought long and hard to protect the Staff Pension Plan which is a defined benefits plan. All regular employees of CUPE 951 and CUPE 917 as well as some members of CUPE 4163 contribute to and benefit from this pension plan. The full document is available for download and review as a PDF: UVIC Staff Plan doc – 2015Sept30
