Recently presented at a general meeting, the Community Plan for a Public System of Integrated Early Care and Learning is a project of the Early Childhood Educators of BC in partnership with the Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC, with funds from VanCity Credit Union, the VanCity Community Foundation and the City of Vancouver. 

The project will examine the relationship between free, universal and publicly-funded full school-day kindergarten for 5 and 4 year olds and BC’s existing child care services. Read more »

Vegas-bound blind pianist and Vancouver Island’s Got Talent winner, Sky Mundell, will be performing at the Sky’s the Limit Benefit Concert, May 6th in Victoria, BC. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Canadian Federation of the Blind. The evening features performances by pianist, Sky Mundell, the Vancouver Island Chamber Choir, jazz guitarist, Lucas Haneman and singers Kristen Birley, Kaya Fraser, Karen Kelpin, and Stephanie Landucci. For CUPE members and for people around the world, March 21 has become an important symbol in the struggle to end racial discrimination in all its forms.

The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination has been commemorated on that date every year since a 1966 declaration by the General Assembly of the United Nations.
