Transgender Day of Remembrance

November 20th is Transgender day of Remembrance. On this day, we honour the memory of transgender, Two-Spirit, and non-binary people who have been killed due to transphobic violence. On November 20th, there will be a candlelight vigil at Cridge Park (720 Belleville St.) from 5:00-5:45 p.m. Afterwards, there will be an informal gathering at Tre
Fantastico from 5:45-6:45 p.m. We encourage you to attend if you can.

With the rise in transphobic rhetoric across Canada, this day is an important reminder that we must continue to do the hard work of ensuring the safety of our trans friends, family, and coworkers. The link above provides information on how we can take action, for example how we can negotiate language to advance the rights of trans workers, as well as links to educational resources and mobilization techniques.
