This year, the Communications Chair will be attending the 2014 Pacific Northwest Labour History Association (PNLHA) Conference in conjunction with the 29th anniversary of Miners’ Memorial Weekend, June 12-15 2014.
The Cumberland Museum’s Miners’ Memorial Weekend is an annual celebration of workers and their families and a call for a renewed commitment for safe workplaces, justice, and bread and roses for all. The event has become a much-anticipated gathering for those passionate about labour history and contemporary labour issues.
The conference will cover topics ranging from the impact of WWII on organizing to the history of attacks on the public sector to how to share the history of working people. Alongside this conference will be the Miners Memorial events.
