Pride Celebration
What is pride? A celebration. A protest. A call to action. There is no place for homophobia, transphobia, or hate of any kind in our society or workplace. Fighting for the rights of one group of people does not take away the rights of another group. Wins for one are wins for all. Division is the goal of those who wish to remove rights from everyone except themselves, and we must look past our apparent differences and see that we all want the same things: respect, quality of life, safety.
We must, of course, celebrate. Join us at the Victoria Pride Parade on Sunday July 12th and afterwards at Pride at the Park.
On campus, on June 23rd there will be a pride flag raising at 4:00 p.m. (outside the Jamie Cassels Centre) followed by Drag Bingo at 5:00 p.m. at the Grad House.
