Retiring our antiquated e-mail system
I have been talking endlessly about the old e-mail LISTSERV RETIREMENT – and its day is coming quickly.
We are retiring our old MailMan based e-mail information system and replacing it with something fresh and exciting.
As for the old “MailMan” based one – It will cease to exist by the end of February 2017.
We would love to have you on the new system. It is not obligatory. If you would like to be part of our new communications e-mail list, please Click here to join the new one –
We cannot, by law, add new members to this list – it is purely voluntary. Nor can we add you on request.
There are currently around 400 people on the old system and around 380 on the new one – some are on both. Each and every subscriber to the old system will get a final e-mail giving them instructions directing them what to do next should they decide to do so.
I cannot stress enough that any e-mail subscriptions are purely voluntary. We cannot add anyone or a group of people to any list against their will. Our new e-mail system is based on the MailChimp.com service which is based in the U.S.A. – it stores no personal data other than your e-mail address, first name and last name – which, in reality does not even need to be your real name. We don’t check it. We also do not send out any sensitive information over any of our list systems – We also do not share our e-mail databases with anyone – neither CUPE B.C. or CUPE National!
Thank you for reading.
