The Latin American and Spanish Film Week brings to town some of the best movies produced today in the Hispanic world.

This the Latin American and Spanish film will be featuring award-winning films from Mexico, Paraguay, Argentina, Peru, and Spain.

Regular Cinecenta prices apply, and tickets will be available at the box office at the screening of each film.  All films will be shown with English subtitles.

Thursday September 19, following the screening of the documentary “Journey to the Fumigated Towns” by Fernando Solanas, we will have a conversation and Q & A about agroindustry and sustainable food production with Dr. Andrew Weaver, MLA Oak Bay-Gordon Head, Councilor Nathalie Chambers (Saanich) and Prof. Jeremy L. Caradonna, Environmental Studies (UVic).

Friday September 20, after the screening of the documentary “Indestructible – the Soul of Salsa”, join us for a party celebrating our 10th anniversary at Vertigo, in the Student Union Building at the UVic campus, featuring live Latin music with Pablo Cárdenas & the West Coast Cuban All Stars.

Tickets are sold separately at the venue on the night of the event: $ 10 general public, $ 5 students with ID. There will be drinks for purchase and free snacks. Doors open at Vertigo at 8:30 PM.
