Emergency Preparedness Week
May 4-10 is Emergency Preparedness Week.
Emergency Preparedness Week is a good opportunity for B.C. employers (and workers) to refresh themselves on their responsibilities for emergency preparedness under the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Regulation.
On campus today,
“as part of Emergency Preparedness Week, on May 8 UVic is conducting tests of its emergency communications systems, including the UVic website and UVic Emergency Alerts system.”
In the CRD, PrepareYourself.ca is a standalone emergency preparedness page. Along with information and resources, there is a list of upcoming preparedness workshops in the region.
“We all have an individual responsibility to be prepared for emergencies. Do you know how much food, water, and other supplies are necessary to sustain you and your family for at least a week?
PrepareYourself.ca will provide answers to this question as well as helpful resources to prepare you and your family for any disaster.”
